Using an existing Github library, Heroku_ebooks, I created this Twitter bot to understand the way in which technology and artificial intelligence can learn and develop with as little human interference as possible. This project used a series of different active Twitter accounts (ranging from Political leaders to meme creators and influencers) in order to learn vocabulary, sentence structure, grammar and punctuation.

 

The bot itself tweeted at regular intervals. While the initial sentences it would produce were filled with nonsensical gibberish, it did manage to ultimately tweet eerily human like messages. The more accounts it learnt from, the more cohesive the tweets became.

 

Unfortunately, this experiment was short lived due to the vulgar route the bot took as it developed (as demonstrated by the example tweets shown here). While the tweets are still available to access, the account was banned from further posts.
