During my internship at Fractal I was able to work with the Product team on various aspects of their user interface and experience. From videos mapping out the user journey of new applications they wanted to add to their SME (small to medium enterprises) banking platforms to conceptualising and designing portions of their web interface, I experienced working in a team centred environment.
These stills are ideas for the onboarding screens for their Developer portal. Keeping within their brand guidelines when it comes to colour and font choices, I wanted to create a contrasting dark interface in comparison to their bright white website so as to show entry into a more technical and developmental side of their product.
Using digitally drawn sketches to add graphical details reduced the formalness of the platform. Hover effects that highlight button options with the bright yellow used in the Fractal logo, guide the eye and add a pop of colour. Incorporating the Fractal logo as a method of screen counting (as seen on either side of the onboarding box) was an unique design detail I decided to pay attention too. On completion of the onboarding process, the logo is fully highlighted in it’s typical bold yellow. The overall look was kept simple and minimal with colour so as to perform it’s function without unnecessary design elements that could cause confusion/distraction.
Along with the onboarding screens I was tasked with creating a simple format to display code information for API's on the portal. Sticking to a similar dark aesthetic while taking the company's brand colour guide into consideration, below is an example of the Company API tab, using filler text for privacy and confidentiality reasons.
